Sophrology

We are delighted to welcome Carla Forth, a Sophrology Practitioner, at Orchard Therapies.

What is Sophrology?

Sophrology is a mind-body practice, it can help with many therapeutic issues including anxiety, depression, and insomnia. It uses and combines simple dynamic tension release and breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, mindfulness, visualisation, and sound. It can be hugely beneficial when practised alongside psychotherapy or counselling, empowering the person to safely feel embodied, and have the tools and resources to improve their levels of wellbeing.

Sophrology can also be used to help prepare for future events such as pregnancy and labour, interviews, exams, public speaking, sports competitions, preparing for surgery or other medical procedures, helping people to feel prepared and confident about facing a future event and their life.
