Carla specialises in Sophrology. This is a mind-body practice that can help with many therapeutic issues including anxiety, depression, and insomnia. It is easy to learn and uses and combines simple dynamic tension release, breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, mindfulness, visualisation, and sound. Sophrology can be offered as a stand alone therapy and it can also be hugely beneficial when practised alongside psychotherapy or counselling, empowering the person to safely feel embodied, and have the tools and resources to improve their levels of wellbeing.
Sophrology can also be used to help prepare for future events such as pregnancy and labour, interviews, exams, public speaking, sports competitions, preparing for surgery or other medical procedures, helping people to feel prepared and confident about facing a future event and their life.
Carla has a Diploma in Sophrology, has been working as a Sophrologist for over ten years and is a full member of the International Sophrology Federation. She specialises in stress and anxiety management, depression, and sleep issues, and also in helping people with food related issues: eating disorders, disordered eating and those needing to be on a medicinal diet. She is the founder of ‘Women, Food & Freedom’ – a programme to help women find freedom in their relationship with food.
